The Barcelona Network for Critical Thought and Social Research (BCNCT) stems from a theoretical and practical sense of urgency prompted by the accelerated crises of the present. Its purpose is to engage critically with the tensions and contradictions of our time and envision alternative societal models. It brings together scholars and activists across diverse disciplines, methodologies, and academic institutions.
Located in Barcelona, BCNCT draws inspiration from a rich history of emancipatory movements (sexual, cultural, economic, political, ecological) in Catalonia and beyond. Today, Barcelona is also a reference point for critical social experimentation.
